The Detroit Lions have won the NFC North in back-to-back seasons, finishing with 15 wins and 12 wins in those years. Most NFL franchises would bite their kneecaps for that level of success, but the Lions are now in the class of Super Bowl or bust.

The team’s roster is stacked, with seven NFL Pro Bowl selections last season, including quarterback Jared Goff, who finished 4,629 yards passing, 37 touchdowns, and a rating of 111.8. Again, this is a level of performance most NFL teams would covet. The question remains, however: Can Goff win a Super Bowl?

Here is a ranking of NFL quarterbacks based on their likelihood to win the Super Bowl next season. The list combines the best player with the best team. Where does Jared Goff rank?

1. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens (+700) are the second most likely team to win the Super Bowl in 2026, per DraftKings Sportsbook. The Ravens are loaded, and there is no better quarterback than Jackson, if he can match postseason performance with what he’s produced in the regular season. That remains up for debate, but given Jackson’s excellence over consecutive years in Todd Monken’s offense and the draft picks the Ravens added on defense, look for Jackson and the Ravens to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

2. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles (+650) are the most likely team to win the Super Bowl, per DraftKings. The team is stacked from top to bottom, and Jalen Hurts proved last season he can win it all. The Eagles would be first if not for how difficult it is to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

3. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

DraftKings gives the Chiefs (+750) the fourth-best odds to win the Super Bowl. This must be based on reputation and past performance because the Chiefs have never looked so vulnerable in the Mahomes-Andy Reid era. With that said, Mahomes is a staple in the Super Bowl and cannot be discounted.

4. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

The Bills (+700) have the second-best Super Bowl odds, tied with the Ravens. Look for the two teams to meet in the AFC Championship Game. Allen is the reigning MVP, and he consistently plays well in the biggest games.

5. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

Rounding out the top five, the Lions (+1000) have the fifth-best odds to win the Super Bowl. No other team in the NFC can match the Eagles’ talent except Detroit. The Washington Commanders are close and beat Detroit in the playoffs last season, but with a healthy defense, the Lions will represent the NFC in this season’s Super Bowl.

Goff put up elite numbers last season. He has a career passer rating of 95.7, ranking him 17th all-time. Goff has been to a Super Bowl once before. He was not good, but that was six years ago. Goff is a more complete quarterback now. Add to that, the Lions offense is chock-full of talent.

The only reason Goff and the Lions aren’t higher on this list is that the team has two new coordinators this year. It’s too early to tell how Goff will perform with the new voice calling plays.

Goff may not be the best quarterback in the league, but he is among the best. This list shows that with a formidable team behind him, Goff is good enough to win the Lions the Super Bowl.
