The Detroit Lions season ended prematurely on Saturday after the disappointing loss to the Washington Commanders. The campaign that began with Super Bowl aspirations ended on a whimper with the 45-31 loss at Ford Field.

The injuries obviously played a large role in the early exit, as the absences on the defensive side of the ball finally took a toll on the Lions. However, there are still some changes that need to be made this offseason to get over the hump in 2025.

Regardless of how disappointing the end of the season was for the Lions, it was still a tremendous success. It was the best regular season in franchise history. That is why Lions fans were mad about a bitter rival's attempts to troll them following the loss.

Packers cornerback and return specialist Keisean Nixon didn't waste any time trying to troll the Lions. Taking to social media, Nixon said, "Somebody tell them boys in Detroit I got an extra room at the villa in Cabo".

Packers Specialist Tries to Troll the Lions

This is partly a self-deprecating post. The Packers suffered an equally disappointing defeat to the Eagles in the wild-card round and ended their season earlier than Detroit. Cabo, the popular offseason vacation destination, is widely used as a shortcut to refer to early playoff exits.

Now, all NFC North teams will be watching the rest of the playoffs from their homes or Cabo. The division that looked like the best in football severely underwhelmed in the playoffs. Green Bay was a no-show against the Eagles, the Vikings got destroyed by the Rams, and the Lions lost to the Commanders at home. The NFC North going 0-3 in the postseason is one of the most fascinating developments of the playoffs.

The Lions will once again start next season as Super Bowl favorites. They have major offseason decisions to make in the coaching staff and in terms of personnel, but they are clearly in a better situation than Nixon and the Packers.
