The Detroit Lions' win streak was cut short in primetime as they fell 30-17 to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. After being decimated by injuries on the defensive side of the ball all week, perhaps this wasn't the most surprising result. The Lions were particularly short-handed on the secondary, with Terrion Arnold and Avonte Maddox missing the game while DJ Reed and Khalil Dorsey continue to be on the injured reserve list. Despite not being able to suit up with a shoulder injury, however, Arnold still managed to come out of Week 6 among the losers.

Terrion Arnold's Attempt to Troll Patrick Mahomes Backfires

Sidelined indefinitely after re-aggravating his shoulder injury in Week 5, Arnold decided to make the most out of the situation and shared a social media post trolling Patrick Mahomes. The photoshopped image showed a version of a WWE meme that is popular online, using Mahomes as an unsuspecting opponent smiling, and Dan Campbell as the Undertaker looming behind the star quarterback.

After the Lions' defeat, Arnold quickly deleted the post, possibly making matters worse. The internet had already begun trolling after Mahomes went for 257 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 32 yards on the ground and a rushing TD.

Naturally, the responses to Arnold's post weren't forgiving. Brittany Mahomes shared a screenshot of Arnold's post and followed it up by highlights from the game in support of her husband.

The tensions between the teams were already high, highlighted by the brawl that broke out after the game. Mahomes, Brian Branch, and JuJu Smith-Schuster were involved in a fight that will almost certainly result in disciplinary action against Branch. Arnold's involvement in all of it from outside certainly didn't help matters.

This is the last drop in a frustrating Lions stint for Arnold. The former Alabama star arrived in Detroit as a highly coveted first-round pick but has failed to live up to the hype so far through the first season and a half of his career. His habit of picking up avoidable penalties and delivering inconsistent performances has drawn the frustration of the Lions fanbase at times, but this latest incident has annoyed the fans to another extent.

It would have been one thing if Arnold were out there to help his team and give it his best. Putting Mahomes on notice in this way when Arnold wasn't even available to contribute was a needless, unforced error. Now, the second-year player has a lot more on his shoulders as he will feel the pressure to put his money where his mouth is upon his return from injury.
