Among the many great moves the Detroit Lions have made in recent years, acquiring First-Team All-Pro safety Kerby Joseph in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft is one of the best.

He's become arguably the best at his position in the entire league, and should be a fixture of the team's secondary for years to come. Especially considering the defensive issues Detroit had down the stretch in 2024 that led to a playoff collapse against the Washington Commanders, he deserves to be highlighted.

While most fans attention is justifiably focused on the recent rookie class, one former veteran is sparking reunion rumors after working out with Joseph in a newly-released video.

Kerby Joseph Sparks Tracy Walker Reunion Rumors With Workout Video

In a video released on social media, Joseph was seen working out with former Lions safety Tracy Walker. Originally an undrafted pick from the 2018 class, Walker spent six years in Detroit before being released.

He was on the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad in 2024 and failed to appear in a game, yet he still started 43 games for the Lions during his tenure and could be a valuable addition as a depth piece. There shouldn't be an expectation for the 30-year-old vet to be a starter, but teams can always use players like him in case of injury.

That he's working out with Joseph could purely be the case of ex-teammates spending some time together, or it could be something more. General manager Brad Holmes is excellent about leaving no stone unturned, and perhaps he sees some value in bringing someone back into the fold who has experience with the defensive system.

In any case, this is a situation to monitor. If Walker still has something left in the tank, he can help Detroit even if it's just in a special-teams role. Regardless of what ultimately happens, it's exciting to see Joseph being a potential recruiting mechanism for a team that's benefited from his presence so deeply.
