The Detroit Red Wings travel to Buffalo to face rookie phenom Jack Eichel and the struggling Buffalo Sabres on Friday night.

The Detroit Red Wings have scored two goals in two games so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they have lost two games in a row. The Wings scored only one goal against the St Louis Blues on Wednesday night in a 2-1 loss.

Petr Mrazek was once again sensational for the Wings but he can’t score for them. The Wings need to find some offense and there is no better chance then against one of the worst team record wise in the NHL.

The Buffalo Sabres have prized prospect Jack Eichel who is second on the Sabres in goals with 14, same as Dylan Larkin. This Sabres team eventually will be good but right now the Red Wings desperately need to take advantage of them and get two points.

Even with the Florida Panthers winning 11 straight games and Red Wings nation frustrated with the lack of goals by the Wings, the Red Wings are only three points behind Florida for the division lead. Although, the Red Wings just got passed by the suddenly red hot Tampa Bay Lightning.

Petr Mrazek is getting the start tonight and he will again have to help out the struggling Red Wings offense. The good news is the Red Wings have won two of three against the Sabres so far this season.
