The Detroit Red Wings, coming off a big win against the New York Islanders on Saturday, face the Florida Panthers tonight at Joe Louis Arena.

For the second time in less than a week the Detroit Red Wings face the Atlantic-leading Florida Panthers. The Red Wings defeated the Islanders for their first win at home in 45 days on Saturday, and look to make it two in a row.

The Red Wings beat the Islanders 5-1 and for the first time in awhile really looked dominant. Dylan Larkin had another goal which gives him a team leading 18 goals.

Dylan Larkin and Petr Mrazek have really led the Red Wings this season which bodes really well for the future of this team. Mrazek is expected to be the starter tonight but coach Blashill has made it known that he won’t reveal the starter until game day.

The last time the Red Wings played the Panthers did not go so well for the Red Wings. The Panthers jumped on the Red Wings by leading 3-0 early but thanks to Larkin the Wings were only within a goal early in the second.

Unfortunately, the Red Wings never got closer. The Panthers scored six times, which is the most goals the Red Wings have given up all year.

Jimmy Howard wasn’t very good although he had very little help from the Red Wings defense. It’s clear that Petr Mrazek is the clear starter for this team.

Roberto Luongo is the expected starter again for the Panthers tonight.

Here is all the important info for tonight’s game:

This game is another big test for the Red Wings. The Red Wings, like they did on Saturday need to come out firing and get off to a great start.

If the Red Wings can win beat the Panthers in regulation all of a sudden the Red Wings will be six points back of the Panthers.
