The Detroit Red Wings make their only trip to St Louis tonight to face the Blues. The Red Wings look to extend their winning streak to six games.

After winning their fifth straight game, the Detroit Red Wings hit the road tonight looking to win their sixth straight game.

Dylan Larkin scored his first goals of the season, Thomas Vanek and Andreas Athanasiou also scored as the Red Wings won 4-2.

Even though Larkin had two goals, the best player on the ice in my opinion was Athanasiou. Even though Athansiou had the least amount of ice time for the Red Wings (11:29), every time he was on the ice he was dangerous.

Athanasiou’s goal was huge as the Hurricanes climbed back into the game in the second period. With the Hurricanes only down a goal, Athanasiou ripped a beautiful wrist shot past Cam Ward.

After that goal the Red Wings never looked back. The Red Wings travel to St. Louis tonight looking to extend their winning streak to six games which would be their longest since January of 2015.

The St. Louis Blues meanwhile still play in the Group of Death Central Division and after winning their first three games, have lost three of their last four.

More from Detroit Jock City

This will be a big test for the Red Wings as they’ve struggled on the road this season. Petr Mrazek has to be on his A game tonight for the Red Wings to win I think.
