1st Round -Dylan Larkin
Dylan Larkin was the 15th overall pick by the Detroit Red Wings. A Michigan product, Larkin is no stranger to leading championship teams. He captained the Bell Tire Hockey’s Bantam team to a National championship in 2011 and led Team USA to a gold medal in the under-18 world championship.
Larking is ranked #17 among North American Skaters according to NHL Central Scouting.
Here is what Hockey Futures had to say about the Red Wings first round pick
"For Larkin his underrated skill has to be his play making ability. He’s regarded as a possible power forward/two-way forward because of his attention and dedication to defence. However, his offence is not to be forgotten about. He’s got exceptional hockey IQ, quickness and agility which makes him very dangerous in the opponents zone. He has the ability and the hands to set up some dazzling scoring chances should he choose."
…And the scouting report from NHL.com
"“He skates well and has great closing speed, uses his body well. He has skill, but is not afraid of using physical play for puck possession. He has good vision and play making.”"
