Michigan Football Recruiting Scorecard: Top 20 prospects

The Michigan football team has three weeks to complete it’s 2015 recruiting class. Of course, there might be a few stragglers who sign their letters of intent after National Signing Day, which is February 4th this season.

More from Michigan Wolverines

With six commits who will most likely sign, Coach Jim Harbaugh will be looking to lure about 10 more prospects to reach the magic number of 16. That number will be close to placing the Wolverines at 85 scholarships, which is the maximum allowed by the NCAA at any one time.

Scroll down below to find the top 20 players Harbaugh is courting. 13 are uncommitted while seven could be poached. Here’s a capsule on the five players Michigan has a good chance to sign.

As the 2014 season crumbled around the probability head coach Brady Hoke would be fired,  TE Chris Clark was one of several Wolverines who decommitted during the season.

Still undecided, Clark will make the choice between Michigan and UCLA. Harbaugh might have a slight advantage because his tight ends are an integral part of his offense.

Another decommit, Detroit Cass Tech’s running back Michael Weber, left Michigan’s web before finding himself with Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Both Michigan and Ohio State are blessed with several outstanding backs, but the deciding factor might be that Cass Tech’s coach Thomas Wilcher was a Wolverine running back in the mid 1980s.

On Michigan’s radar since the beginning of the 2015 recruiting cycle, Long Beach, CA’s Iman Marshall is the No. 1 rated cornerback in the country. He would undoubtedly enjoy playing alongside Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers, last season’s No. 1.

Marshall will be in Ann Arbor Jan.19 for an official visit and to most likely check out the ice.

Another recruit Michigan has shown plenty of interest in is Keisean Lucier-South.

While he’s verbally committed to UCLA, would it be novel if  hopped the same plane with Marshall to Ann Arbor. Lucier -South is the 2nd ranked WDE in the nation.

Finally, the Wolverines would kick themselves if they don’t sign Tyrone Wheatley, Jr., especially since his dad just accepted the running backs assistant coaching job.

At 6-6, 260, Wheatley could play numerous positions, but the conversation has been mainly about TE or SDE.
