An actual decent pick up that might actually help the Detroit Lions is former Green Bay Packers AJ Hawk. However there is two thing you would wonder about when thinking about signing him. Why did the Packers let him go? Is he hurt in some way? The team seemed to just kind of release him and while yes he has been in the league for 9 seasons, and is 31, it seems like he might still have something left in the tank.

I think that Hawk if he still wants to play is for sure in his emergency starter, but mostly sharing spot and back up position in his career.

While his numbers have decreased over the seasons, he still plays hard and fast, and if anything he will more than likely some of his best games against his former team.

If Hawk is healthy, why not try him out? Offer him a reasonable amount of  money and let him work out with the team. Having a guy that is use to being on a team like Green Bay cannot possibly hurt your team. His work ethic is probably pretty good and as long as he isn’t injured in any way why not give him a shot. You’ll regret it if you miss the playoffs by one game to a team that did decide to take a chance on Hawk.
