The Glasgows will be challenged

The linebacking corps has several experienced players (despite the loss of Jake Ryan) as does the defensive line. Still, there is room for improvement up front. Walk-on Ryan Glasgow will anchor the line from the nose-tackle position with hopes of withstanding the charge from Brian Mone.

Like Graham Glasgow won the center job, look for Ryan Glasgow to hang in there on defense.

It’s possible the rating gurus missed out on the Glasgows, so don’t cast aside the few 2-star recruits Harbaugh is bringing in. It’s really about recruiting kids who fit within the program and are teachable. In fact, both Glasgow’s began their careers as walk-ons.

Harbaugh showed that type of ability at Stanford as he gradually improved the Cardinal’s record from 4-8 in 2007 to 12-1 in 2010.

He did it with recruiting classes ranked 45, 45, 18, 25. Not exactly stellar.  But he eventually got the job done at a school hardly known for its nationally-ranked football programs—at least not when Harbaugh arrived.

Next: This is Michigan.
