Top Player in Round 3: A.J. Green
With all the awesomeness that Round 2 brought, this round is a bit of a letdown for me. Now is where you start looking for roster balance and see if you want to continue with positions you’ve already taken, or go another route.
Looking at the list I’m going with Green, yet another receiver that I like better than Julio Jones. The reason is that not only does he have the physical talent, but he has proven to be a steady producer with a low floor/high ceiling weekly production. If I’m aiming for Matthew Berry’s 93, I like having players I can count on. A.J. Green is my Round 3 security blanket.
Other Players I Like: T.Y. Hilton is Andrew Luck‘s top target, and that offense is just going to produce, so I almost picked him as my favorite. Alshon Jeffery is also a number 1 receiver on a team that has a bad defense, so expect production there. If Luck somehow makes it to this round, I’d definitely take him. End of the round will make me think about taking Russell Wilson and Peyton Manning for sure.
Players I’d avoid: I’ve been burned by Mark Ingram too many times to trust him. Mike Evans is a nice talent, I just don’t want to be live with Jameis Winston’s growth this year. Jimmy Graham used to be a positional advantage, but the uncertainty of how much he will produce in the Seattle system gives me pause. Though I do hear they like to throw it close to the goal line…
