Always Strive For Value
There’s going to be guys that you pick up on waivers that turn into fantasy studs, so the draft is not the end all be all. The quote I hear again and again is that you can’t win the season at the draft, but you can lose it.
The only sure way to give yourself a chance is to go for value. Andrew Luck is the top QB but you don’t want him in Round 1.
Does A.J. Green really make sense in round 2 when you have Jordan Matthews or Mike Evans usually there in the 3rd? Do be caught up in the name of Jason Witten when a guy like Dwayne Allen has way more value and could go in the last round.
Stephen Gostkowski is always a top 5 kicker but if you’re getting him anywhere before the last or next to last round you’re reaching. That goes for any kicker.
There’s nothing wrong with going after a guy you have a hunch on, but don’t rush it and lose your chance at can’t-miss #1 players. Name your price for a guy and if the situation fits then make it happen. Example: Drafting a guy with high potential like DeAndre Hopkins in the top 4 rounds, when he can easily be had in the 5th.
Hope this does some good for you all. Cheers to a new year of fantasy football and good luck to everyone! May Shiva Kammini be with you!
