Rutgers head coach Kyle Flood recently named LSU transfer Hayden Rettig as this season’s starting quarterback.
Rettig replaces Gary Nova who threw for 404 yards in Rutgers’ 26-24 win over Michigan in 2014.
Besides the leaky pass defense, Michigan’s Devin Gardner was sacked three time while tossing an interception.
A lack of steady line play by the Wolverines on both sides of the ball proved to be the difference.
The loss saddled the Wolverines with a 2-4 (0-2) record, and things began to look like Michigan was nearly in the market for a new coach.
By breaking in a new QB, Rutgers shouldn’t be able to torch the Wolverines’ secondary this time around.
Prediction: Michigan 28, Rutgers 14.
Next: Indiana
