DJC College Football Top 25 Rankings Week 4: Spartans Climb to No. 2

There was some shakeup in the DJC college football Top 25 this week as the number one team in the country survived a scare from a group of five opponent and the number two team fell to a conference rival.

Ohio State staved off a threat from Northern Illinois. The win wasn’t pretty, but it was enough to allow the Buckeyes to hang on to their top ranking. Alabama wasn’t so lucky in their matchup with Ole Miss. The Rebels won a 43-37 shootout which saw them jump into the top five; the Crimson Tide dropped down to number ten.

Michigan State benefited from Alabama’s drop in the rankings. The Spartans climbed up another spot to claim the number two ranking. That gives the Big Ten claim to the best two teams in college football heading into Week 4.

USC took a big plunge this week after their loss to Stanford — the Trojans fall from number six down to 17.
