Detroit Red Wings vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Game 3: Game Time, TV, Radio, Live Stream
By Mike Rizzo
The Detroit Red Wings look to get back in the series tonight, as the series moves to Detroit. The Red Wings find themselves in a 0-2 hole.
The Detroit Red Wings face a must win game tonight as they return to Detroit. The Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Red Wings on Friday in game two 5-2. The game was another tight game until the last five minutes but Tyler Johnson once again killed the Red Wings.
These two teams don’t like each other and it has been evident in these two games. The Lightning have been going after Dylan Larkin and I believe the Red Wings should go after Tyler Johnson.
If the Red Wings can match the Lightning’s physicality then the Red Wings still have a shot in this series. The Red Wings having the last change now will help for these two games, as they can get the matchup that they want.
I love how Justin Abdelkader stood up for his team but he needs to keep his emotions in check so he doesn’t end up hurting the Red Wings. So far in this series, the Red Wings have taken several bad penalties and that needs to end tonight.
Jeff Blashill said changes could be made tonight. Changes NEED to be made tonight in my opinion. Brendan Smith and Teemu Pulkkinen need to be in the lineup tonight.
Also, Petr Mrazek should be given the start tonight. I’m not blaming Jimmy Howard for these last two games but I think by switching up the goaltenders might give this team a spark.
The main issue with this team most of the season has been the defense. The defense has left both goalies out to dry for most of the year. In this series the defense has been very poor.
That is why Brendan Smith needs to be in the lineup. I know he is sometimes the whipping boy of the fanbase but he’s a much better option then Jonathan Ericsson and Niklas Kronwall.
Here is the information for tonight’s game:

The Detroit Red Wings are still in this series but they need a win tonight at the Joe. The good news for the Red Wings is since the All Star Break they are 11-3-1 at the Joe. I think they make this a 2-1 series.
