Sixth Round

The Lions showed a preference for bigger cornerbacks late in the tenure of Martin Mayhew and it seems that may continue with Bob Quinn in charge. James Bradberry fits the bill as a late-round cornerback option and there is obviously some real Lions interest considering defensive backs coach Tony Oden was running drills during Bradberry’s pro day workout.

Bradberry also fits the Patriots profile for cornerbacks, as Detroit Jock City’s Erik Schlitt recently noted in his look at defensive back metrics.

The Lions are in need a versatile tight end with Eric Ebron and Tim Wright more useful lined up wide and Brandon Pettigrew recovering from a late-season ACL tear. Morgan was a consistent target for the UTSA offense but was also a willing blocker.

His versatility will serve him well as he can line up wide, inline or in the backfield.

Re-signing Tahir Whitehead to take over for Stephen Tulloch (whenever that matter is officially settled) takes some heat off Bob Quinn to do something at the linebacker position but it is still an area they could look to address in the draft.

Luke Rhodes would have to come in and prove his worth as a special teams player early in his career but possesses enough physical skills to get a chance to develop in to more if he can stick on a roster.
