The USMNT will take on Ecuador in the Copa America Centenario quarterfinals on Thursday night. Find out how to watch the game on TV or online.

The United States Men’s National Team won Group A of the Copa America Centenario thanks to a 1-0 win over Paraguay and Colombia falling to Costa Rica in the final round of Group A play. The USMNT and Colombia finished the group with six points (two wins, zero draws, and one loss), but the Unite States took the top spot with a +3 goal differential in group play (to Colombia’s +2) despite the head-to-head loss.

The Copa America tournament now moves to the knockout phase with eight teams (the top two in each group) advancing to the quarterfinals. The USMNT, the Group A winner, will take on Ecuador, who finished second in Group B, tonight in an elimination game.

It’s technically the first round of elimination games in the tournament, but the United States have been essentially playing elimination games in their last two. Following their 2-0 opening loss to Colombia, they were put in position of lose-and-go-home and have thus far responded with a pair of solid victories.

Ecuador does not carry the same sort of successful international soccer tradition that many other South American nations enjoy, but they’re a team on the rise and have climbed above the USMNT on ESPN’s Soccer Power Index rankings.

The big question for the United States entering tonight’s match is who to start at the right back position? Starter DeAndre Yedlin will be suspended from tonight’s match after being sent off for accumulating two yellow cards in the team’s last match vs. Paraguay.

The top option appears to be Michael Orozco, who came into the game after Yedlin’s red card, but Jurgen Klinsmann has other options as well, including flipping Fabian Johnson from the left side to the right or breaking up the pairing of Geoff Cameron and John Brooks that have played so well.
