Michigan State Spartans basketball star Miles Bridges threw down a massive alley-oop dunk on the first night of the 2017 Moneyball Pro-Am at Aim High Sports in Dimondale, Mich. on Thursday.
Bridges scored 33 points for his team in Thursday’s game. He wasn’t the only Spartan to perform well on Thursday, as Michigan State teammate Nick Ward, playing for the other team in Thursday’s game, scored 50 points.
Nine other current Spartans are participating in the pro-am, including returning sophomore Cassius Winston, senior Lourawls “Tum Tum” Nairn and incoming freshmen Jaren Jackson and Xavier Tillman. Current Cleveland Cavaliers and former Oakland Golden Grizzlies guard Kay Felder was also on the court.

Bridges decided this spring to return to Michigan State for his sophomore year to play basketball despite being projected as a first-round pick in this year’s NBA Draft. He says he has lost ten pounds this offseason, reducing his playing weight to 225 pounds.
Michigan State’s 2016-17 season ended in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in March with a loss to Kansas. They finished 20-15 (10-8 Big Ten) after starting the season ranked #12 in the AP Poll.
Expectations are high for Michigan State in 2017-18, however, with the return of nearly every player from last year’s roster, including all four of their star freshmen, and the addition of Jackson and Tillman.
