More from Michigan State Spartans

Sophomore Brian Lewerke gets the start at quarterback and junior L.J. Scott will lead Michigan State rushing attack that will look to be the bulk of the offense in 2017. The Spartans will only start two seniors against Bowling Green and will rely heavily on sophomores and juniors. Linebacker Chris Frey is the only senior starter on defense.

Bowling Green will rely heavily on the run as well, led by returning running backs Josh Cleveland and Donovan Wilson. Sophomore James Morgan returns to start at quarterback for the Falcons after taking over midseason in 2016. Bowling Green’s defense ranked near the bottom of FBS last season, giving up 464 total yards per game and 273.3 passing yards per game.
