The Michigan Wolverines kicked off the 2017 season today with a win over Florida, 33-17. Who deserves the game ball for this week? Read and find out!

Michigan Football returned with a bang today as they beat Florida 33-17 at Jerry World. The game was mostly a blowout with the exception of two pick-sixes thrown by Wilton Speight.

Michigan left a lot of points on the board today but still ended up cruising to a win.

The defense was fantastic and held the Gators to just 20 rushing yards and 153 total yards. The kicking game for Michigan was outstanding as well as Quinn Nordin went 4/6 on field goals.

The game ball for today, in my opinion, should go to Ambry Thomas. After Michigan regained the lead at the beginning of the second half, Thomas forced and recovered a fumble on the kickoff to give the ball right back to Michigan.

Michigan was only able to get three points off of that turnover, but that took all the momentum from Florida and gave it right back to Michigan. Even though Florida led at the half, this game was never that much in doubt thanks to the defense. If Michigan’s defense keeps playing like this and Speight improves, Michigan will be very scary this season.

So, the first Michigan game ball of 2017 goes to Ambry Thomas as his forced fumble and recovery ended up giving the game to Michigan for good.

Quinn Nordin is an honorable mention. For the first time in my lifetime, Michigan has a very good kicker. He made two from 50 yards or more and went 4/6 on field goals. Do you agree with my choice for game ball? Let us know below!
