Miles Killebrew: Killebrew has been on the roster bubble for quite some time through the preseason. With a position change to linebacker, most people thought that was spelling trouble for his roster chances. With an unfortunate injury to Steve Longa, Killebrew is the beneficiary to fill in especially on special teams.

Rolan Milligan: Milligan has been getting a healthy dose of snaps in the preseason.  He has been out snapping his competition Charles Washington through the entire preseason. He has also been standing out on special teams, where he will more than likely be seeing the majority of his snaps.

Alex Barrett: Barrett will fill in the necessary depth behind Devon Kennard at Jack Linebacker. Being an undrafted free agent last year, the new defensive scheme plays well into his strengths. He has been playing second team through practices and outperforming his competition in games. Even though the Lions acquired Eli Harold, I believe Barrett will still make the roster.

Kenny Wiggins: Wiggins has been getting more looks because of TJ Lang‘s injury. He has been on second team through practices, but he was first up the last two preseason game in Lang’s stead. He has had his ups and downs, but he provides plenty of experience being a starter last year. With few stepping up for the reserve offensive line spots, Wiggins looks to have a reserve role for the Lions.

Brandon Powell: Powell is this years camp darling; right next to Hakeem Valles. Powell has shown he is a swiss army knife. He leads the league in receptions and punt return yards. He is also top 20 in kick return average. With Teo Redding and Jace Billingsley under performing, he is securing his spot as the Lions’ fifth receiver. Hard to say if the Lions will roll with five receivers, but he is making it tough on the coaches to not carry him on the roster.
