Detroit Lions reportedly make offer to GM candidate Kevin Colbert
By Tyler Kotila
The Detroit Lions have reportedly extended a job offer to Kevin Colbert to fill the General Manager vacancy.
Earlier this morning, on 97.1 The Ticket’s Stoney and Jansen show, some bombshell Detroit Lions rumors were dropped. Host Michael “Stoney” Stone revealed that a trusted source disclosed to him that the Lions organization had reportedly made an offer to General Manager (GM) candidate Kevin Colbert.
The team has been in the interviewing process for some time now as they try to move closer to naming replacements for the head coach and GM vacancies. It appears that Colbert is the guy the Lions feel is “the guy,” according to these rumors.
Colbert has ties to the Lions organization after being the pro scouting director from 1990-99 before moving on to the Pittsburgh Steelers organization. Since 2000, Colbert has built up the Steelers organization into what it has been over the last two decades. It seems there could be a new era coming into the focus of Colbert if he wants the gig.

The Lions reportedly have Los Angeles Rams director of college scouting Brad Holmes coming in for a second interview as well.
The search has been going on since the Lions parted ways with head coach Matt Patricia and GM Bob Quinn during the 2020 season.
It was a long time coming, but the organization has begun moving on, and the search to fill these vacancies has been ongoing, with the assistance of Chris Spielman and Barry Sanders.
It seems that the Lions organization feels Colbert can be their guy and has made a significant offer, according to the rumors. Colbert has been a name tossed around throughout this process.
He has built something special in Pittsburgh, only posting one losing season while winning two Super Bowls and adding 10 division titles to the Steelers’ franchise resume.
Time will tell, but it sounds like the Detroit Lions have made an offer to Kevin Colbert to bring him back to Detroit.
