Detroit Red Wings: Bobby Ryan’s hot start has since slowed down
By Tyler Kotila
The Detroit Red Wings kicked off their 2020-21 season in mid-January, and early on, it looked like Bobby Ryan was not going to slow down whatsoever. However, as the Red Wings continued on with their season, the production has slowed down a little bit for Ryan.
It was a little farfetched to think that Ryan would continue at the pace he started at, especially on this Detroit Red Wings team, but he has slowed down a bit. Even then, he is still producing and settling well at a slower and more expected pace.
If Ryan does find a way to produce here and there still and tally some points on the scoresheet when the Red Wings do actually score, Ryan should be able to play his way into a trade situation. The Red Wings could very likely undergo a deadline shake-up to move any assets they can.
Even if the Red Wings opted to keep him around, Ryan will be a good locker room morale guy and be a good veteran presence. Ryan may not be scoring left and right, but he still has every chance to get up to 15 goals if he can get back on the scoresheet in the goal column.
The Detroit Red Wings have seen Bobby Ryan cool down after a hot start.

For the Detroit Red Wings, Bobby Ryan has played in 13 games where he has four goals and three assists for seven total points.
Ryan is a minus-four on the year, but that is not saying much on this struggling Red Wings roster.
He started the year with four goals in three games for the Red Wings, but he has not tallied another goal since then.
He has picked up three assists after that, but that’s it in the ten games that following his scorching start.
As the season continues, Ryan should be able to get back to a better level of production.
The Red Wings had a tough stretch winless stretch there where they were missing a bunch of players due to COVID-19 and the protocols that held players out of the lineup.
The Red Wings got their players back, and Ryan is able to slot onto the second line with Robby Fabbri being out on the ice, creating scoring chances alongside him. After such a promising start, the hope was he could keep it going, not at the level he started at but still production nonetheless.
Ryan has slowed down in terms of production, but he should be able to get things back on track sooner than later.
