By Tyler Kotila
Ranked #6: Kent Johnson – C
The final player ranked inside the top ten is Kent Johnson, another centerman for the Wolverines. The 6-foot-1,165-pound sniper was electric for the Wolverines in 2020-21. He finished third in points on the Wolverines, with Beniers trailing behind him by three.

In 26 games for the Wolverines, Johnson buried nine goals but collected 18 assists for 27 total points on the season.
He was a plus-16 on the season for the Wolverines as well, making him another one of the talented freshmen who hit the ice in stride this season in Ann Arbor.
Johnson’s ability to make things happen and be an exceptional offensive asset by being able to score on his own.
However, he can also find the open man to set up scoring chances making him another name that should be on any team’s draft board.
All three of these players are great picks in their own regard; the question will be if this order switches and Beniers or Johnson can both move into that top five. Nonetheless, the Michigan Hockey program should see three of its 2020-21 players hear their name called in the early part of draft day.
The Wolverines may have had a sour end to their season after being sent home from NCAA Tournament due to COVID-19 issues, but draft day will be a treat for a couple of the guys from this roster.
Keep an eye on draft rankings as the draft date gets closer to see if any of these three fantastic talents climb up the rankings.
