The Detroit Lions are heading into week four’s contest against the Chicago Bears winless, sitting 0-3 in the Dan Campbell era. Things have not been firing at all cylinders, but there have been improvements, and the team looks much better collectively.

The Chicago Bears are coming into the matchup against the Detroit Lions, with Justin Fields slated to be the teams’ field general. The team’s first-round pick from this year has seemingly already edged out veteran Andy Dalton for the starting gig, for now.

It will surely be interesting to see how Fields matches up with the Lions’ defense and how that plays out. The Lions’ secondary has seen better days, but it will be good to see how some of these younger and inexperienced players adapt and adjust. Trey Flowers has also been ruled out ahead of Sunday’s matchup with the Bears.

Lions first-rounder Penei Sewell continues to be flexible and will be moving back to Right Tackle in Sunday’s contest, according to reports.

The Detroit Lions are looking for their first win in Sunday’s contest.

The best way to describe it is that the Lions have looked marginally better than in prior years. Under new head coach Dan Campbell, things seem to be moving in a much better direction. This is a rebuild, and the wins will come eventually.

This Sunday may not be the worst time for it either. The Bears are coming into the matchup with a 1-2 record. The Bears have also only scored 40 points on the season, which is the least in the NFC North division.

The matchup of the Bears offense and Lions defense will be intriguing since the Lions have allowed the most points in the NFC North so far in 2021. So it should be fun to see how the Bears choose to attack the Lions.

Plus, the Lions have lost to a rookie quarterback once this year; letting Fields have a field day with their defense on Sunday is not ideal.

Prediction: I’ve got the Detroit Lions taking this one home and securing their first win. I think the inexperience of Justin Fields will help keep the Lions in it until the end. In terms of betting, my bold prediction is that the Lions will win outright.  But, then again, my hopes might be too high.
