Detroit Lions: The perfect 3-round 2022 NFL Mock Draft 2.0
By Bob Heyrman
We’re down to the final four in the NFL with former Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams hosting their division rival San Francisco 49ers this coming weekend. In the AFC, the high-flying Cincinnati Bengals traveling to Kansas City to square off with the Chiefs.
As we continue to trek through the NFL Mock Draft season, if you want to go back and read version 1.0 of this three-round mock series, it can be found here.
The Detroit Lions have many holes to fill throughout their roster, but plenty of draft capital this year and next, which will only help complete this wholesale rebuild.
The Detroit Lions also need to fill their offensive coordinator vacancy whether it’s a hire within or not. Plus defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn continues to draw interest from teams searching for a head coach, most recently, the New Orleans Saints, where Glenn has deep roots.
At this point, it appears like current tight ends coach Ben Johnson is the front runner for the offensive coordinator role.
Johnson helped head coach Dan Campbell immensely this past season after stripping Anthony Lynn of the play-calling duties. Johnson served as a passing coordinator while Campbell and Lynn handled the teams’ rushing attack. I also feel that Glenn will be back as the DC for at least another year, but that is still to be determined.
Now, let’s jump into the latest version of this 2022 Detroit Lions 3-round NFL Mock Draft.
As it stands, the Detroit Lions will be selecting second overall plus 31st overall (NFC Championship results pending) in the first round.
For this activity, I will be using the NFL Mock Draft Simulator from NFL Mock Draft Database.
