The Detroit Lions are playing a playoff football game this week. After getting much-needed rest during the Wild Card round, the No. 1 seed Lions have the No. 6 seed Washington Commanders coming into town for a Divisional Round matchup.

Head coach Dan Campbell is thrilled to have David Montgomery returning to the field, who has been dealing with a torn MCL. While that is great news, the Lions started preparation for the Commanders during their Wild Card contest against the Bucs.

They wanted to get a head start on Washington. On Monday, Campbell was asked about the perception that his team struggles to defend running quarterbacks.

Campbell responded, "Tell me who does."

Campbell does have a point. Defending a QB that can run is such a difficult thing to do. Attempting to contain a playmaker who can throw and run the ball is something that few teams can succeed at.

Detroit will have their hands full this weekend when Jayden Daniels comes into town. As a rookie, Daniels showcased he's already one of the best signal callers in the league. He completed 69% of his passes for 3,568 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, and a 70.5 QBR. On the ground, he added 891 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

He continued his hot play in his first playoff game. The LSU product went 24-of-35 for 268 passing yards, 36 rushing yards, and two passing scores in the win over Tampa Bay. The 24-year-old led Washington to a 10-play 51-yard game-winning drive.

Daniels has shown his ability to be clutch. This season, he's led the Commanders to five-game winning drives.

His dual-threat ability will give the Lions fits for sure. In Week 15, Detroit matched up against the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen. In that game against the Lions, he had 362 passing yards, 68 rushing yards, and four total touchdowns, leading to a 48-42 win.

Granted Allen is in another tier compared to Allen but they both have similar skill sets, which could give Detroit some trouble.
