The Detroit Lions want to build on their franchise-record 15-2 record from this past season once the 2025 campaign kicks off.

While getting to 16 or maybe even 17 wins would be quite the accomplishment, extended postseason success is the next goal for Dan Campbell and company as the quest for the franchise's first Super Bowl title continues. The Lions learned exactly what their path to the No. 1 seed in the NFC will entail this past week when the league announced Detroit's 17-game regular season schedule.

Now, they know what that 17-game marathon will look like. Tuesday morning, Lions fans also received the schedule for Detroit's preseason matchups.

While the preseason doesn't always provide the most exciting football for fans, it gives them a chance to view this edition of the roster before they take the field for games.

With two AFC foes traveling to Motor City this coming August, Detroit will face some tough tests, as a Mike Vrabel-led defense will undoubtedly be tough, and the Lions' defense will be tested by a Miami Dolphins offense that is as explosive as they get in the NFL.

Two of Detroit's four preseason games will come at the friendly confines of Ford Field, which is just another gift the schedule makers gave the Lions with this preseason slate. Playing three of their four preseason games within three hours of their home is about as good a schedule as a team could get.

Detroit fans will want to pack Ford Field for these games as they truly have one of the best home-field advantages in all of football. By setting the tone early, opposing franchises will have a sense of what they're in for whenever they are forced to visit Detroit.

Players say all the time how they are fueled by the fans in the stands, and there is no fan base hungrier for a Vince Lombardi Trophy than the one in Detroit.
