The Detroit Lions are stacked heading into next season and one of their strongest areas is at wide receiver. Amon-Ra St. Brown has become one of the best weapons in the league since he was selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft and Jameson Williams has shrugged off some offseason trade rumors to return to Detroit for a third season.
But just because the Lions have a strong starting duo and Tim Patrick behind them doesn’t mean they don’t need one more weapon. Detroit is continuing to scout the wire for another free agent target to add before next year and it continued with the addition of a speedy weapon released by a rival.
Lions Offer Minicamp Invite to Ahmarean Brown After Eagles Snub
According to Mike Uvah of Gamecock Central, the Lions have invited wide receiver Ahmarean Brown to the team’s rookie minicamp this weekend. Brown attended the Philadelphia Eagles’ rookie minicamp last week but did not receive a contract offer as he continues to be a free agent.
After being invited to take part at Eagles rookie minicamp this past weekend, former South Carolina WR Ahmarean Brown remains a free agent. He's been invited to rookie minicamp with the Detroit Lions, which will be held this Fri-Sun, his agent @AgentSarahJ tells me.

Brown had a five-year career with Georgia Tech and South Carolina, catching 92 passes for 1,136 yards and nine touchdowns. While he signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent, he spent most of his rookie season on the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad
The good news for Brown is that he has an enticing athletic profile. Brown’s size at 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds is well below NFL standards, but he brings blazing speed to the table. He ran a 4.37-second 40-yard dash during his pre-draft process and used it to average 18.9 yards per reception during his freshman year at Georgia Tech.
Brown faces an uphill climb to make the Lions roster, but he can make a positive impression that could earn a ticket to OTAs later this month.
