June has officially reached its end, meaning the 2025 MLB All-Star Game is just a few weeks away. This year's event will take place at Truist Park — home of the Atlanta Braves — on Tuesday, July 15, and there's a good chance the Detroit Tigers will make their presence felt based on how many of their players are having All-Star-caliber campaigns.

While a lot of MLB fans are excited for the annual spectacle, other baseball supporters have their focus set on the All-Star Futures Game three days earlier. It's always exciting to get a glimpse at the future of the sport, and it turns out that a handful of Tigers prospects will be hitting the field with their fellow stars of tomorrow next month.

3 Top Tigers Prospects to Compete in 2025 MLB All-Star Futures Game

On Monday, Major League Baseball announced the participants for this year's All-Star Futures Game. Several clubs will have multiple prospects in attendance, including the Tigers, who will have the following three up-and-comers representing the Motor City:

  • Max Clark, OF — No. 1 DET, No. 7 MLB
  • Kevin McGonigle, SS/2B — No. 2 DET, No. 21 MLB
  • Josue Briceño, C/1B — No. 4 in DET, No. 73

The aforementioned trio's participation in next month's game shows how bright the future of baseball is in the Motor City.

Drafted third overall by the Tigers in 2023, Clark has been living up to the hype this season. The Franklin, IN native is hitting the ball well with High-A West Michigan, racking up six home runs and 42 RBIs with a .276 batting average and .836 OPS. He's also tallied 12 stolen bases and 61 walks, showing that he doesn't always need to use his bat to make an impact.

Meanwhile, McGonigle has also been hitting the ball well in his time split between West Michigan and Single-A Lakeland. The 5-foot-10 infielder is slashing .357/.440/.643 with seven HRs, 36 RBIs, and 21 walks across the two minor-league levels, and continuing that dominance could see him promoted again before the season is over.

The 20-year-old Briceño has made an impact on West Michigan, too. He currently leads the club in HRs (14) and RBIs (51) while slashing .281/.405/.590 in his first season with the Whitecaps, leaving time to tell if he can sustain that success in the second half of the campaign.

Tigers fans are well aware of the immense talent waiting in the organization's wings. Once the trio of Clark, McGonigle, and Briceño take the field at Truist Park in two weeks, it won't be long before fans of MLB clubs are just as aware.
