The Detroit Lions had one of their best seasons in franchise history in 2024. Their 15-2 record was good enough to earn the top seed in the NFC playoffs but a divisional round loss to the Washington Commanders may have dampened the enthusiasm of Lions fans.

With that in mind, some may have not been able to watch Sunday’s game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. But that’s not indicative of the future of this team. With a young core returning next season, Detroit has great odds of returning to contention next year and one Lions defender took to social media to remind everyone that things are going to be OK.

Terrion Arnold Promises Lions Fans Super Bowl Championship is Coming After Eagles Win

Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold felt inspired after watching Jalen Hurts and the Eagles lift the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday night. In a post on his X account, Arnold reminded fans that the Lions Super Bowl window isn’t closed and promised “We going to get ours!” with a ring emoji at the end.

Arnold has a right to be optimistic. The Lions were one of the best teams in the NFL last season but stumbled in the playoffs. A big reason for Detroit’s collapse had more to do with injuries than performance on the field and the Lions should be back in the middle of the NFC playoff hunt next season.

While the Lions lost offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn to head coaching jobs, there’s a chance the team could be even better next season. Star edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson is set to return from a broken tibia and fibula suffered in October and trade rumors are swirling over a potential trade for Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett.

Even if the Lions don’t make a splash, they have young players such as Arnold who could make a leap next season. According to Pro Football Focus, Arnold led the Lions’ secondary with 1,021 snaps last season but had highs and lows including 10 penalties and a 100.4 passer rating allowed. While the inconsistency was disappointing, Arnold also posted a 76.3 tackling grade that was the best among Lions cornerbacks.

Put it together and the Lions have a great chance to fulfill Arnold’s promise and it could happen as soon as next season.
