The Michigan Wolverines lost to bitter rival Michigan State last night 14-10. Not a lot of choices for the game ball but one player again stood out.

The Michigan Wolverines lost 14-10 to Michigan State in a game that was played poorly by both teams. As bad of a game as this was, I still have to give a game ball out. Spoiler alert, the game ball isn’t going to anyone on the offense.

The offense was putrid tonight. Michigan turned the ball over five times including three interceptions thrown by John O’Korn. The play calling last night was horrendous. In a monsoon, the Wolverines decided to throw the ball which clearly did not work.

Costly penalties also did the Wolverines no favors in this game and for the 8th time in 10 games MSU beats Michigan. I don’t have many positives to say about last nights game. The offense was brutal, dumb penalties and bad drops were the reasons Michigan lost again to MSU.

The defense once again was the only bright spot. The game ball tonight will go to Rashan Gary. This guy is legit and becomes the first player to get two game balls so far.

Gary was a force on defense as he pressured Brian Lewerke for most of the night. Gary is proving to be as legit as all Michigan fans hoped he would be.

With this defense being as good as it is, the season is still salvageable. Michigan is never out of a game, even tonight with five turnovers the Wolverines were still in it until the final whistle.

The Wolverines now travel to Indiana to face the Hoosiers. The Hoosiers always pose a challenge for the Wolverines with that funky offense. The defense will have it’s work cut out for them in that game.
