The Michigan Wolverines handled the Maryland Terrapins today 35-10. The Wolverines have now won three straight. Who gets the game ball for today’s win?

The Michigan Wolverines beat Maryland today to extend their winning streak to three games. This game was a tale of two halves for the Wolverines. Michigan dominated the first half in every way and led 28-0. They also out-gained Maryland 212-112.

The second half was a completely different story.

Maryland out-gained Michigan 228-93 and outscored Michigan 10-7 in the second half. Michigan clearly got complacent in the second half and it showed. In the third quarter Michigan only gained 21 yards. In the end though, Michigan cruised to a comfortable win and now heads to Madison to face the Wisconsin Badgers.

A couple of concerns before I give you my game ball winner. Karan Higdon left the game late in the first half due to a ankle injury. The Wolverines can’t afford to lose him. Another concerning issue is Quinn Nordin. Nordin, who started the season 10-for-10 on field goals, has missed his last three field goal attempts.

My player of the game today is Brandon Peters. He threw for two touchdown passes and only threw for 145 yards. Once again he didn’t need to throw a lot but he didn’t throw a interception and continues to look comfortable as the starter for the Wolverines.

I thought Peters has looked good in the games he’s started but with that said he hasn’t really been tested. Peters will get his first real test against the Badgers coming up on Saturday. Peters is doing a great job of protecting the football unlike John O’Korn.

Wilton Speight looks like he’s close to returning and possibly could reclaim the starting spot. Most Michigan fans, myself included are probably very nervous to read that.
